13-million-dollar budget, 70,000 square feet of total interior space. The original building was four stories high and had a six thousand square foot footprint. The entire building was gutted, and a new structurally sound floor system was installed. We added two top floors with duplex penthouses to create a six-story building. Two side-by-side ground-up additions, six stores high, are attached to the existing building. A standard roof deck and headhouse span the entire building.
-
Represented the Community Development Corporation of Boston and managed the project from day 1 of construction, supervised the site, and was the Clerk of the Works for the complete renovation of a 1920s industrial building into 31 luxury condos that had two new additions on the east and south sides, an elevator parking garage, and two ground-floor commercial spaces. During this project, he earned his Construction Supervisor's License.
-
Upon starting the project, Mark acknowledged that the actual size of Phase 2 was more significant than the architectural plans and needed a better overall layout. During Phase 1, he redesigned the structure and interior for Phase 2 in AutoCAD, which was 15 units and six stories high. These changes included structural changes to incorporate a new roof deck that the owners wanted. The structural engineer and architect stamped these changes, which were immediately built under their supervision.
